Accessibility Statement for CNEI.edu
Measures to Support Accessibility
CNEI takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of our website (cnei.edu):
- Include accessibility as part of our mission statement and internal policies.
- Integrate accessibility into our procurement practices for third-party tools and services.
- Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities to our web development team.
- Employ formal accessibility quality assurance methods, including regular audits and user testing.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
CNEI.edu is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working toward full conformance.
This statement aligns with global accessibility requirements, including but not limited to:
- WCAG 2.1 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
- Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (U.S.).
- ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Title III (U.S.).
- EN 301 549 (European Union Accessibility Standard).
- AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) (Canada).
- Other international standards such as those from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Additional Accessibility Considerations
Although our goal is WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we have also applied some Level AAA Success Criteria where feasible, such as providing sign language interpretation for audio content when applicable and ensuring high contrast for text.
